Depressing weather. Pearce 8/12/'33
This is the shortest one yet -- only two words. Of course, now I must search for a one-word message on a postcard. I wish I could remember where I found this mini collection of postcards from Pearce because I'll bet he wrote a one-word message to Carl.
I wonder what the weather was like on Saturday, August 12th, 1933 in Newtonville, Massachusetts. Was it raining? Scorchingly hot? Humid? Foggy? Windy? For some reason Pearce found it depressing. Perhaps he wanted to play tennis, visit local churches, browse at a tag sale, or wear sneakers, sit on the verandah and read his new book about the Loch Ness Monster.
